Subsea7 Awards JD Power Projects Contract for Offshore Cable Installation at Marjan Increment Program

November 2024

Subsea7 has awarded JD Power Projects Contracting Inc. a significant offshore contract for the installation of 69kV submarine cable repair joints, cable terminations, and temporary test ends. The project will be carried out as part of the Marjan Increment Program (MIP), a key development initiative by Saudi Aramco to expand the Marjan offshore oil field's production capacity in the Arabian Gulf.

JD Power Projects, renowned for its expertise and certifications in offshore cable joint and termination installations up to 230kV, will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful deployment of these critical components.

The MIP, which started in September 2019, is designed to enhance the Marjan field's oil processing capabilities. Subsea7 is collaborating with L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE) to execute the offshore construction works, which include the installation of subsea pipelines and electrical infrastructure required to support the increased production capacity.

This project highlights the growing demand for advanced offshore installation expertise and is another step forward in the transformation of Saudi Aramco's offshore oil fields.
